Tip #4: Send Holiday Cards in March.

Or April. Or July.
There’s no rule that you have to send holiday cards just for Christmas and Hanukkah or just in December. In fact, since many small businesses are busiest at year end, sending those cards out can be time-consuming and stressful. And, with so many cards being mailed out at the same time of year, it may not even create the result that you’re hoping for.
And what are you hoping for? You want colleagues, customers and peers to know that you are thinking of them, and that you appreciate them. So who says you can’t do that at another time?
Think about your least busy time of year – May, September, whenever. Choose a holiday. It could be a traditional holiday like St. Patrick’s Day or July 4th. Or it could be an unconventional one like National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day (August 4, in case you’re wondering) – there’s a great list of holidays here. Send your holiday cards on that day.
What does it accomplish?
It frees up your end of the year to do other things.
It reminds your colleagues, customers and peers that you’re thinking of them.
It makes an impact.
So Happy Fruitcake Toss Day (yeah, that’s today)!
