This blog has undergone some changes, yet has the underlying purposes that Becky started with.  I’m Mary Emma Allen, who has worked midst clutter and organization.  I’ve learned life isn’t perfect, so I’ve had to work…whether using my computer, making quilts, doing dressmaking, creating art work, planning books and other ventures…wherever I could find space and time.  I’ve had to be flexible.

I prefer having everything organized, but life hasn’t always given me that option.  So I’ve learned to organize whenever I can and appreciate tips from those who have found solutions that work in a busy life.

Below is Becky’s statement about My Organized Biz when she was writing it.  I’ll still include it here, since Becky had some very good ideas.

Stuffy, uptight organizers, move over.

At My Organized Biz, you’ll find advice like why you shouldn’t get organized and the assertion that organizing doesn’t work with cookie-cutter solutions.

What’s more, you’ll never get preached at or scolded for the clutter in your office because we’ve been there before. Instead, you’ll find support, creative ideas, and great appreciation for how hard it is to keep all the balls in the air.

Some basic beliefs at My Organized Biz:

  • You’re not broken (even if your systems could use some help).
  • Working with natural creative cycles is a great way to reduce overwhelm and increase productivity (even if it means being messy).
  • The key to being organized is finding what works for you.
  • Clutter is a symptom of a solveable problem.
  • As an entrepreneur, you probably spend more time at your desk than you do sleeping – so the way your space works and feels is vitally important. At My Organized Biz, home-based solopreneurs who feel frustrated and overwhelmed by their office can get inspired – and organized – so their business can thrive.
