Almost back to normal
I’m still on the road, but I will get back to home base this weekend. I’m looking forward to my own stuff, my own routines, and my lovely, delicious high speed internet. I may just kiss my Airport base station when I get home.
I’ve established as much of a routine as I can while I’m away. That’s important for my sanity, and to keep as organized as I can considering the circumstances.
Sometimes, especially when you’re at a structured conference, your time is not your own. You can’t stick to your routine. That’s okay. Just do what you can to keep track of things.
And as my time away draws to a close, I have to do my laundry and pack. As I’m packing, I go over a mental list of what I brought with me, making sure it is all going back into the suitcase or bags. If the list is complicated, I write it down. In fact, many times I pack using a list. And that same list is used when I get ready to leave.
Even with those precautions, I always feel like I’m forgetting something. So I usually check several times to make sure I have everything.
What about you – do you stick to routines when you travel? Are you a creature of habit, or do you prefer to wing it?

Yes, life is very tough for most people in today’s world. I live in another part of the world and I do not have the same busy schedule like you have, but life is really tough. I cannot stick to routine when I travel. In fact, I am not a fan of travelling and I try to travel as less as possible.
And you probably don’t whine about the speed of your internet access, either.
It’s easy to get used to having something at home and forget that many people don’t have it at all.
