Finding books on organization isn’t… organized

by Becky on July 6th, 2008

Clock face(www.myorganizedbiz.com) - I stopped by the local bookstore today, to browse and see what’s new in the organizational and productivity arenas. And I was disappointed to find that there’s not a section specifically for our topic. If you want to find books on getting organized and managing your time, you’ll actually waste time trying to find them.

Chew on that one for a moment.

The books are generally in a couple of sections: self-improvement and business. And in those sections, there is no sub-section. You almost have to know the book title or author that you’re looking for.

I was really disappointed to see this, as I like to go to a section and browse a bit. Sometimes I just like to thumb through a book to get a feel for it. My best bet is to make a list of what I’m interested in, then drop by the store. If I want to save time, I’ll need to look online and then go to the local store to pick it up. I could have it shipped, but the store is just up the street and on the way when I’m running errands.

Have you tried to look for organizational and productivity books at your local bookstore? Did you have any luck? Any authors you really like whose work I should be looking at/ reviewing for the site?
