Get out of your rut
It’s easy to be unmotivated and in a bit of a rut. Learning something new, forming new habits, changing your mindset … any of these can be tough. It’s hard to change. So sometimes we don’t bother. We keep going along in the same well-worn rut because it’s easier than breaking out of a pattern.
And it’s time we stopped that. Have you ever been so frustrated with the way things are going that you decide to make sweeping changes to everything? What happens? It’s too much work and you give up.
So take small steps for yourself. Try one new goal instead of fifty. Reduce the mind clutter and concentrate on one new thing, one small goal. Make it a confidence-builder. And once you’ve successfully done that one thing, add another. It can be easy, too, if you need the boost. Or try something just slightly harder than the first. Complete that.
Then keep going, gradually adding in more goals until you’re able to handle a few at a time. Instead of scaring yourself away from getting organized or setting goals, ease into it.This isn’t like jumping into a pool where you should just jump in and get over the shock. It’s okay to acclimate yourself to new ways of doing things.
Do you recognize when you’re in a rut, or do you need help seeing that you’re stuck?
