Giveaway: One year subscription to Carbonite online backup service
We rely so heavily on our computers and electronic data. A small business could easily be devastated in the event of a hard drive failure or natural disaster. You need to regularly back up your data – at least once a week, and ideally even more than that.
To help small business owners along these lines, Carbonite is offering a free one year subscription to My Organized Biz readers. Here’s some information from them:
It’s never too late for small business owners to consider how they can best organize and prepare for potentially catastrophic affects such as fires, natural disasters or hard drive failures. The U.S. Small Business Administration estimates that a quarter of small businesses that have to temporarily close during a disaster never reopen. The U.S. Department of Labor has estimated that figure as high as 40 percent. As a result, small businesses should look no further than a solid online backup resource to keep the data safe and offsite.
Online data backup services, like Carbonite, offer the peace-of-mind of affordable, simple and unlimited backup that’s available no matter what happens to your computer. It takes the hassle out of protecting the irreplaceable data filed and created on computers. Files are automatically and securely backed up over the Internet and stored safely offsite for easy, on-demand retrieval – perchance the inevitable happens, your files are lost. Carbonite can be purchased for $49.95 per year for unlimited backup at www.carbonite.com, and also offers free 15-day risk-free trials.
A one year subscription is valued at $49.95. Go over to Carbonite’s site and take a look at the details of this product. Then come back and leave a comment, telling us how you think Carbonite can help your business.
We’ll have the drawing next Friday, so be sure and spread the word! Entries will be accepted until 5 p.m. PST. Any entries after that time will not be eligible to win.
Entries are limited to one per person. Winner will be chosen using a random number generator based on the order of comments left on this post. If winner is unable to respond within 48 hours of email notifying them of their win, a new winner will be chosen. Void where prohibited and all that jazz.

I am a lazy, lazy, lazy writer and I rarely, if ever, back up my novel, short stories, or even articles. I know it’s bad. I know I should, and I could do it easily, and yet I never do.
Carbonite would be invaluable in case of a complete system failure. Who knows, one day they might be able to claim that they saved the Next Great American Novel from being sent to the big resting place for wiped computer files!
Great giveaway!
Unlike my wife who always backs up her files to disk , I hardly ever do so this would be a valuable service.
Well I tryto remember to back up and save and put to disc- never happens till there is a panic and husband works on the inet alot and does alot of work- this would be a timesaver and a stress reliever for me

I constantly have family and friends appear at my door step with the phrase “my computer’s messed up”. So I go along and I fix them and even create back up dvds or cds. I even create backup images of their drive’s partition only to hear them six months later with ” something happend to my computer and I really need a file”. Sometimes I’m able to recover files but other times I’m not. It’s sad to have to tell somebody that all their pictures are gone or that the lesson plans they created for their class are gone. It would be so nice to just setup remote access on their computers and just backup their files online for them.
I am trying to start a bookkeeping business. I know that I need to do a better job of backing up my client’s data.
My business life is on my laptop, and I travel a lot, so having a Carbonite online backup would allow me to back up wherever I am traveling. Great idea!

I would love to try this product. It seems easier to use than the product I am currently using. I also found out that Kim Komando uses and recommends this product. I have previously lost all my business data due to a electrical accident that fried my last computer. I never want to go through that again!
What a great contest! I’d love a solution where I can backup all my files and then they’re stored *not locally* – if something happens to my house, it happens to my computer AND my backup drive!

This would come in handy. Not too long ago I lost an important file. Nice giveaway!!
Nice giveaway, I want to win !! Thanks !!!
Carbonite is the greatest thing since ice cream.
I never backed up. I read about Carbonite when it came out and bought it. ONE MONTH LATER the hard drive on my laptop crashed and died. There one moment and gone the next. Rather than jumping off a bridge I just downloaded all my files from Carbonite. And you don’t need to be a tech wizard to do it. Best of all it backs up 24/7 and requires no user brain or memory:) Amazing.
Just what I need and the price is more than affordable!
With a mobile office this is a great idea. If I lose my info, no matter where I am I’ll be able to access it. Thanks.
anything that can help protect my data is a welcome addition in my book.
could really use this
