Makeover Wednesday: Spring cleaning

by Jennifer Hofmann on April 2nd, 2008

(www.myorganizedbiz.com) - In my part of the world, daffodils have been blooming for weeks and days are getting brighter and longer.

Unfortunately, all that sunshine means winter’s dust and cobwebs are more visible than ever. I’m getting that springtime itch to, yes, clean up.

My to-do list includes shampooing the carpets, washing windows, getting financial records under control (I’ve got a system but not using it lately), and removing wallpaper and painting.

This week’s Makeover Wednesday is about you. If you’ve been reading a little while, you know I usually give advice to others, but this week I want to know what advice you’re giving to yourself.

Take a minute to share:

  • What’s on your springtime to-do list in your office or home (since you work there)?
  • What neglected projects or secret corners are you getting yourself ready to tackle?

There’s power in numbers, so chime in with your goal so we can all get geared up for spring!

Went to a “social media” demo today which got me jazzed about community online. Now I read your blog which suggests people are trying to break the habit and get back to some real face time.

It’s like travelling to Hawai’i. The plane is on course about 5% of the time, and the other 95% is course corrections.

Everytime you discover a cool new thing, there’s a honeymoon phase. Then you figure out how to integrate it into your life in a less obsessive way. Some thing applies to online communities, RSS, ezines, and social media.

For my clients, my goal is to help them recognize they are IN the honeymoon phase and be aware that a time will come when they want more face time (or whatever it is they’re striving for).

    Thaks for the comment, Tim!
