Saturday link: Name your files so you can find them
(www.myorganizedbiz.com) – Remember when computer file names could only be a set number of characters long? It made it quite hard to name files in a way that you could find them later. And when that restriction was no more, oh how I rejoiced. it made file naming so much easier.
Do you still have trouble knowing what to name your files? And do you name them in such a way that you can easily tell what is in that file? If you can’t tell at a glance, then you’re wasting time trying to find files. Don’t do that to yourself.

And then start giving your files meaningful names. When you’re looking for a file at the last minute just before a client meeting and you find the correct file the first time, you’ll be happy you took a moment to name things right.
