We’re constantly thinking up new business ideas, ways to promote our products and services, and how to improve. Have you ever had too many ideas?

We are all busy. So busy, it can be hard to keep track of everything we need to do, everyone we’ve talked to, and all the things we want to ponder later. So we’re bound to forget something once in a while, right?

We need to capture all of these things, these ideas and thoughts. Our minds are so cluttered that we constantly have varying priorities jostling for attention. So what can help? Uncluttering your mind.

One way you can unclutter your mind is to write things down. Write everything down, in fact. Ideas, things to do, calls to make, emails you need to write later, ideas for that great new product. Everything.

If you write it down and capture it for later, you don’t have to worry about losing an idea. And the act of writing it down seems to solidify the thought, to help you remember it better for later.

So keep a small notebook with you. Some people prefer a moleskine notebook. Or maybe a Hipster PDA. But anything will work as long as you always carry it with you and actually use it.

Later, you can go back and glean the ideas and action items from it. The important part is to capture things as they come to you so you can free up your mind and move on. This is especially important when you’re in the middle of a task. Instead of stopping what you’re doing, jot down the new idea and immediately go back to your task. It’ll save you from getting distracted from what’s at hand.

Have you tried this yet? Did it work for you?

Image: pvera (cc)

Post from: My Organized Biz
