Tax Day Retrospective – A new leaf for you?

April 16, 2008 by Jennifer Hofmann

(www.myorganizedbiz.com) – I was thinking about the relief most people are feeling today and wondering if you had any thoughts about what the next fiscal year will be like for you.

Do you have any “I’m never going to do that again” resolutions? Are you feeling content because you’ve already got your rebate check – and you’re planning a repeat for next year?

As a business owner, what did you learn from this last tax cycle?

It is always a hard lesson–Next year I am finally going to do real accounting. so far my strategy is to keep all my reciepts and checks in two folders, and then add it up at the end of the year–laughable I know.

This year I am going to keep a monthly tally, and do a sum at the end of each quarter…oh, wait Q1 is already over you say? I am already behind. but it has already been a good year. This is the year that is not only going to be good, but also organized… I hate the tax day shock!
