Tip of the Day #3 – Go Through Your Mail Daily

December 6, 2007 by Julie

website designGo through your mail daily. Paper clutter is one of the biggest complaints from business owners. The mail seems to pile up very quickly and next thing you know, it has completely taken over one of your work surfaces.

When you go through your mail, you should ask yourself three questions about it:

  • Do I file this?
  • Do I throw this away or shred it?
  • Do I need to act on this?

By setting up a simple system for your mail and taking care of your mail daily, your mail will never take over again. You will not lose important documents or pay bills late. You will also keep your work surface clearer, which usually equals a clearer mind and a better ability to focus on your work.
